The sky is falling

So we had a playdate (swimming) with some of my cute girls, and after they left David and I are in the kitchen and see...there is a leak in our ceiling. coming from the master bathroom.. Lovely, thats all i have to say!!! Adventures in the Hoopes house. Thank goodness we are still in our 1 year warranty cuz it aint my money!!!!!








And while we waited for the plumber we made Virgin margaritas.. Yippee.. Can't you tell it really stressed us out

1. I have the best 3 kids in the world. each of their personalities complete our home

6. I am the oldest of 5 girls. Kary, Katy, Kelly, Kristy and Kyley otherwise known as k1 k2 k3 k4 k5... i also have 4 sister in laws.
7. I was married in the San Diego temple June 20, 1998, but we have known each other since dec 96. 12 years and still learning about each other, and loving every minute of it.
8. We have owned 3 homes, and still can't wait to move to Ca or Utah.
9. I love black thin Sharpies. I always have on in my purse.

A week in review..

So Last week David started out at going to New York, then to Ashley's fieldtrip to the Zoo, Then spirit week at school(80's day),Then to California for our Sister's wedding. Becky was the most Beautiful bride you have ever seen! Our new brother James is a great guy! After 4 days of wedding events we went to the beach, and played all day ( we can't wait to move back to Cali, we love the beach), and then we rounded out the week with a fun easter egg hunt. So fun, it was a great week. And the best news yet... David got a job!

School board meeting

To all you Divas, the Diva of the week is ......Michelle Thompson. She rocks! Michelle has put so much time the past few months ( dedicated her all) to finding the holes in TERC math that is taught her in our town. It is a stinky program, and thank heavens for her putting so much work into it. Tonight we went to the board meeting, she got her 3 minutes, and they seemed to take to her thoughts on the math curriculum, or should I say lack of. The boardmembers thanked us parents for being there, and a board member ran out and thanked Michelle personally and said he wanted to talk with her personall. YIPPEE. I feel like she got through to someone. I adore you Michelle, I am so proud to call you a friend, a fellow parent, and a woman with passion.... Thanks for working so hard to make every kid get the education we all want for them.

Can I just share what a cute man I Belong to. He got home from New York Late last night, and This morning he got up early with me and did some carpooling, and drops at school, then went back to kids school with me and Ethan for an ALL day volunteer session. We got in at 8:45 and out at 2:50. What a fun, day, but long. He helped and painted and taped an cut and hung up stuff, etc.In the middle of painting a teacher said thanks so much for your help, and his response" I need to get a job so I can stop painting and Not do projects for my wife. Let me tell you that this man is the hardest worker I know, he works 7 days a week with his phone available 24-7, so it is killing him not working. He just went all day and was so helpful, cheerful and a trooper. I adore this man. Tonight he is teaching a class at church, and then I am back at school to help with more stuff,and then we leave for Cali for a family wedding(which i still have things to make for and have to get Ashley a White sweater to go over her dress).... I have not stopped literally for over a week, all day everyday, and I still don't have enough time in the day, and here, my cute man helped me out all day!!! love you, Lovebug

David, David, David

I had to give a shout out to my hunk of a man for his sweet, kind spirit. He spoke at church today, and...He was amazing. he is the kindess, sweetest man i know, not that he is perfect, but he works so hard for our family, and never stops. David had to speak at church (which our friend was so kind to come see him, it meant alot to us), then taught the 12-13-14 year olds( He is in the sunday school presidency and they take turns til someone is called) left early i finished teaching so he could fly to New York City for a job interview, which he almost missed his flight because traffic on the east side of phoenix is a bear, no food in his tummy, no money in his pocket and still trekking alont. we love you, Dad!!

You imagine your husband is a vampire (or werewolf) and have the libido of a newlywed again! You keep convincing yourself that "cold cereal makes a perfectly wholesome dinner" and the pizza delivery boy is now on your Christmas card list. Your children are free to run amuck as long as no one comes to you bleeding...too badly.
Oh, there's guilt alright...but that's not enough! You can't tear yourself away from the books and damned be the consequences!

There are more of us out there than I thought. Fans of the Twilight Series in OUR STAGE of life (whether you're a mom or not) need a place where we can gather unashamed of our irrational obsession with vampires and werewolves. We need a place where "our kind" can relate without having to wade through all the teenage internet code mumbo jumbo like "OMG!!! IMHO Edward is sooo Hawt!!!" (usually a dead givaway that you should be doing your social studies homework for 3rd period instead of playing on the computer.) FYI, it was a group of 14/15 year olds that "changed" me. However, OUR world of balancing family, work, home, marriage AND...our Twilight obsession is unique, fun, and oh, so very humorous. The personal stories and experiences I've heard/read from women on both sides of the planet are a blast. YOU LADIES ROCK!!!

A week in review..

With This special time having David home and not traveling, We are getting things done. Organizing, cleaning, Gardening, Backyard stuff, etc. We had a busy weekend. Connor had his Blue & gold banquet from Cub scouts, a literature, reading at school, David went to New York for an interview,( he goes back again next week), We joined a babysitting group with 4 other couples, and it was our turn to watch all the kids,(we are so lucky, they are all the cutest little people),Connor had was a part in singing at the district carnival, Iwent to Stake Women's Conference (I never miss them they are always the best), David has had lots of school work due, but the best of all was David and Connor went Golfing with our friend Tommy, and David nearly got a hole in one not joke! About 3 inches from the hole. He was so excited, he wanted me to share with ya'all.
